Subway Gift Card Giveaway!

You all know that I don’t do a lot of giveaways on my site, nor do I visit fast food restaurants very often. Almost never in fact. But when the people at Subway contacted me and asked if I’d be interested in trying their new healthy breakfast sandwiches and giving away THREE $10.00 gift certificates – I said, “Sure.” Especially after I reviewed the nutritional information. Subway used to offer breakfast foods that weren’t so healthy, but these new offerings are very good – especially if you are watching your food intake.

I took my three teenagers with me since Subway provided me with a $10 gift card. I knew there was no way I’d eat $10 worth of breakfast food alone. My son and oldest daughter had the Western Egg & Cheese, complete with peppers and onions. My second daughter had the English Muffin Melt, and I had the English Muffin Melt with Egg Whites. We chose the English Muffin bread as none of us wanted to eat sub bread at 8:00 in the morning. But I bet it would be good with the sub bread too!

Here they are at the restaurant:

And here I am!

And here’s a picture of the Western Omelet.

Three of us got water bottles and my son got an orange juice. None of us are coffee drinkers (I gave it up in December) so we didn’t have the $2.50 special, which includes a sandwich and a coffee. Even so, we only spent $11.86 cents for the four of us for breakfast. Here’s the link for the nutritional information, but basically the sandwiches had under 200 calories each which is very good for a filling on-the-go breakfast.

We all enjoyed the sandwiches. Our only negative comment was that they were a bit salty, but not overly so. They were toasted so were nice and hot. They filled us up nicely, although my teenage son said he could probably eat two more. That means he liked it a lot!

If you’d like to try these great new sandwiches then you have several different chances. Please let me a separate comment for each one you do to make it easier for me to use the Random Number Generator!

1 -Leave a comment on today’s post and tell me what the last fast food restaurant you went to was.

Wow – that’s a lot of chances. There are three $10 gift certificates available, so three people will win! This is only available to US residents – so sorry to my foreign readers. I’ll leave the contest open until midnight (CST) on Wednesday. Good luck!!!  Diane

Disclosure: I received a $10 card from Subway to try their breakfast sandwiches and review them on the blog. Subway is also providing three $10 gift certificates to three lucky readers. Thanks Subway!

I’m a sucker for chipotle. I get the salad with chicken. No idea what the nutrition stats on it are…

Last place I went was Subway, and got the oven roasted chicken sub. I do all the veggies, no cheese, and just vinegar on the bun (no oil or dressing). Tastes great!

I’m glad to hear they were good sandwiches, id been wondering about that.

As for the last fast food place I ate at? Ugh, my husband brought me McDonald’s last week after a bible study I hosted, so I wouldn’t have to cook dinner at 11 pm. Even though it was only two little hamburgers it was NOT as good as my mind remembered, it never is!

The last fast food place I went to – was Subway!
It’s only two blocks from me so I stop there a lot.

Actually, the last fast food restaurant I went to was Subway. I practically live at Subway. I LOVEEEEE their sandwiches 🙂

The only one I go to is Subway, once in a blue moon. They make a wonderful veggie sandwich and do it beautifully, with no oil, mayo or cheese…and it’s still incredibly good! Your kids are all so good looking, much cuter than the sandwiches.

The last fast food place I went to was Panda Express. Not my personal preferance but when you get a bace of steamed veggies and some green bean chicken breast on top, it turns out a lot better nutritionally than most fast food choices. Plus, it doesn’t taste too bad either 🙂

The last fastfood I had was a Turkey Cheddar Bacon Flatbread sandwich from Dunkin donuts. Very tasty, hot and toasted and 410 calories
