My Diet Failures Week by Week and My Book Giveaway!

I waited until after the traditional New Year’s resolutions post to offer my book as a giveaway prize for several reasons.

The main reason is that it has been about three weeks since the beginning of the year, and as many of us know, good intentions often wane at about the 21 day point of a diet attempt, at least it did for me.

When I was trying to lose weight, my weight loss efforts generally fell into a predictable pattern.

Week One:

I was full of enthusiasm for the new diet. I’d shop for some healthy foods, I would plan out some of my meals, and I tried to “be good.”  On a scale of one to ten, with one being a total failure and ten being totally perfect, I’d give myself an eight for week one.

Week Two:

The enthusiasm was waning a bit. I planned some meals but not all, I ate fast food a few times, and may have had a candy bar or two during the week. I’d give myself a five for most week two’s of my diet attempts.

Week Three:

I was tired of “being good.” You’d find me swinging through a drive-thru on a random afternoon for a secret milkshake, you’d also probably find me with 16 ounces of M&M’s in my purse to munch on, and you’d find any diet materials such as books or pamphlets hidden under a pile of take-out menus. I’d give myself barely a one for effort.

By week four, I was often already considering when I should start trying again because I had completely given up.

No matter where you are today when it comes to your weight, you can be somewhere else next month, next year, or even next decade. It is up to you to decide where you will be – in a better place when it comes to your health and weight or in a worse place.
