I’m Diane Carbonell, author of both 150 Pounds Gone Forever and this website. I have a second book in the works that deals with family weight and health. I also teach my own weight loss class that I call Fit to the Finish. You can find me on Facebook and Instagram.

I feel as though I am a true anomaly in the field of weight loss. Instead of losing weight and promptly regaining it back like 95 to 98 percent of Americans do, I lost 158 pounds and have kept the weight off for over 16 years. Those 16 years have not been without challenges, as I have experienced times of both tragedy and great joy. Maintaining my weight loss involved continuing to follow my healthy eating plan even when life was hard. Losing weight after each of my four pregnancies in a seven year period proved to myself that my weight loss was permanent and my new lifestyle was sustainable.

While losing weight using fad diets or expensive programs appeals to many people because of the seemingly quick fix, I chose to lose weight using a combination of healthy eating, portion control, and regular exercise. Although not as exciting as a fad diet, my Fit to the Finish plan offers real life weight loss that can last.

As a mom to seven great kids, I lead a busy life homeschooling my younger children, staying on top of my website, speaking on weight loss for large and small groups, taking a limited number of weight loss clients, and being a wife to my very patient husband John.

I enjoy reading good books, spending time with my family, cooking, and writing. I live in the Mid-South, and although I enjoy the warm weather, I do not enjoy the yearly threat of spring tornadoes.
