Soups are a great way to fill up without fattening up. Just watch out for the cream based soups, as they can hide a multitude of calories and fat. Stick with the clear broth soups, and you should be good to go!
Broccoli Cheese Soup – This soup is notoriously high in fat and calories, but with this recipe you can keep the taste and lose most of the fat. Serve this with a salad and bread.
Easy Chicken Soup – Melissa from my group says this was one of the easiest, tastiest chicken soup recipes ever. Try it and see if you agree.
Our Favorite Chili – This is the perfect chili – in my family. We love the combination of subtly spicy spices and generous servings of beans. Try it!
Minestrone – I love Olive Garden Minestrone soup. This is not just like theirs, but is similiar and super healthy. It also freezes well.
Vegetable Soup – You can’t go wrong with a good vegetable soup. Here’s one you can freely add and/or subtract ingredients, depending on what you have at the moment.
Vegetable Stock – A homemade version that’s much lower in sodium and healthier in that it doesn’t have preservatives, etc. Try it, freeze some and you will always have it on hand.
